Emily has been a passionate member of the speech therapy community since she graduated from Syracuse University in 2008. For the last 11 years, she has maintained an ASHA certificate of clinical competency and has worked in various clinical settings. Her experience ranges from treating pediatrics to geriatrics within the early intervention, school-based, and home health settings.
Emily continues to stay current in the latest advancements in evidence-based treatments through various continuing education programs. Emily has been specializing in functional communication, speech, and language training as well as cognitive and swallowing deficits, with individuals with a variety of developmental disabilities. Her treatment approach includes individualized and family/caregiver training to help facilitate the ever-changing needs of her client population.
Michelle has been a practicing physical therapist for the last 30 years. Her education and professional training took place at Russell Sage College and Sage Graduate School with specialized training in pediatrics and developmental disabilities.
She worked for multiple agencies providing home-based and clinical services to children and adults throughout Cayuga and Onondaga counties. Michelle has extensive experience working with patients with neurological, orthopedic, cardiovascular, pulmonary, and developmental disabilities.
Areas of Interest: autism, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, infant massage, sensory integration, aquatic therapy, equine-assisted therapy, rehabilitative services, orthotics, adaptive equipment.
Availability: Monday -Thursday 8-5. Weekend appointments may be possible.
Anna received her graduate degree from Keuka College. Before going to school for social work, Anna has had experience working with children from the ages of birth to 10 years old. Anna recently has started to provide individual therapy in a private practice with a focus on working with children.
She also has experience working in the field of adult mental health through her field placement, ranging from working with clients with anxiety through depression and PTSD.
Areas of Focus: anxiety, self-esteem, relationship and personal safety, anger, behavior
Treatment Approach: CCPT, problem-solving, motivational interviewing, humanistic, art-based interventions.
Kaitlyn received her Social Work License in 2021 after graduating with her MSW from Syracuse University in 2019. She interned at the Syracuse VA Hospital and local PACE program working with older Veterans and adults and providing a variety of supportive social work services. Kaitlyn has been working with the IDD community for the past 10 years. She started out providing direct care services and has been in service coordination/care coordination since 2014. For the past couple of years, Kaitlyn has supervised a team of Care Managers who provide care coordination services at a local Care Coordination Organization (CCO) - sharing her expertise and supporting the team to provide high-quality care to Members. Kaitlyn is passionate about advocating for and supporting her clients in managing their stresses and navigating any challenges they may be facing.
Areas of Focus are anxiety, depression, coping skills, grief & loss, relationship issues, family support, and life transitions.
Treatment Approach: Kaitlyn utilizes a person-centered, strengths-based approach to treatment combining a variety of methods to best meet the Client’s needs. Some approaches include mindfulness, CBT, motivational interviewing, and problem-solving.
Sarah received her master's in social work from Binghamton University in Binghamton, NY, and is available to serve Tioga County and surrounding areas or work with other geographical areas via telehealth. Sarah has over 25 years of experience working with people and families of all ages including those with developmental disabilities. Sarah had worked with the local Head Start and Universal Prekindergarten program as the Coordinator of Special Services and Mental Health, as a Care Management Supervisor.
Area of Focus: Solution-Focused Therapy, Trauma-Informed Care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
Treatment Approach: Person-centered and individualized approach to treatment planning.
Sarah values the opportunity to make quality mental health services more accessible to those who seek them. In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time being active with her dog, Murray!
