Laura has been a practicing social worker for the past 8 years. Her education and professional training took place at the University at Buffalo. She worked for 6 years at Community Services for Everyone, as a Direct Support Professional. In this position, she taught life skills and coping mechanisms to adults with developmental disabilities. She also worked as a mental health counselor at Endeavor. In this position, she provided counseling services to children, adolescents, and families. Additionally, Laura has a developmentally disabled sibling.
In the last few years, Laura has worked at Hospice Buffalo. She currently provides end-of-life education and planning. She also provides grief counseling to patients and families.
Areas of focus: anxiety, depression, coping skills, life skills, trauma, anger management, self-esteem, grief and loss, interpersonal relationships, and adjustment to new situations.
