Angela has been a practicing social worker for the last 18 years. Her education and professional training took place at Syracuse University and the University of Rochester LEND fellowship in developmental disabilities.
She worked for nine years in the then “Kirch Clinic” at the University of Rochester with the team of pediatric developmental specialists supporting children and families with the various challenges of caring for a child with disabilities and/or special health care needs.
Angela has experience working with individuals with a variety of developmental disabilities including Autism, Down Syndrome, developmental delay as well supporting siblings and parents/caregivers.
In the last few years Angela has worked in two local emergency rooms providing crisis mental health evaluation, support and referrals. Most recently Angela has been providing individual, couples and family therapy and assessment in a local mental health practice with some focus on adolescence and young adults.
Areas of focus: anxiety, depression, adjustment, coping skills, behavior, anger, self-esteem, relationship and personal safety over the lifespan, grief and loss.
Treatment approach: Coaching, family systems, CBT, DBT, relational, interpersonal, problem solving, wellness and prevention, education, collaborative, mindfulness.
